Behavior Intervention Plans: Teach Replacement Behaviors and Self-Regulation Skills
Once we’ve identified appropriate replacement behaviors, we then need to plan how to effectively teach the student to use these new behaviors. Simply telling someone to change is rarely enough, especially when trying to change a longstanding habit of responding in difficult situations. A good teaching plan combines opportunities to practice, direct instruction, and motivation to help someone learn new skills.
